When looked after the right way, preserved insect specimens can last a lifetime, and many collections are passed down from generation to generation.

Please keep the lid of your insect box or dome closed at all times, and only clean the outside of the case.
The biggest culprit in damage to dried insects is humidity, so make sure to keep your art away from bathrooms, or other damp environments.
Avoid exposing your collection to direct sunlight for long periods.
If you can, for maximum protection, place your box in a freezer for 72 hours every couple of years. This will prevent parasites.
