Our Story

Studio Hasharat began with a childhood trip to Egypt — and a beetle. The scarab had been sacred there for thousands of years, a symbol of protection and renewal, and something about that idea never left.

That little seed turned into a hobby, and then grew into a small practice. Each piece is assembled by hand in New York, using sustainably sourced specimens and antique or bespoke hand-blown glass — some well over a century old. The result sits somewhere between natural history and decorative art, between the cabinet of curiosities and the contemporary interior.

The pieces are carried by Creel & Gow in New York, Isles Studios in Minneapolis, Wentworth in Charleston, KD Biel in Dallas, and George Home in Connecticut — stores that share the belief that the most interesting objects are the ones with a story behind them.
